Time to remove those trees

February 2, 2017 by Ohio State News

Time to remove those trees

The snow is still flying, but now is the time to start planning for removal of those trees in your yard. Whether they are overgrown, diseased or threatening the neighbor’s garage, tree removal takes planning and it’s best to start early.

Removing small branches from your trees may be a job you can do yourself, but removal of even an average sized tree should be left to professionals. A careful inspection of your yard and the surrounding terrain is necessary to determine how to bring in equipment and which method of removal is best and safest. Often the best option is to climb the tree and rope down sections of it one at a time.

You also must plan for budgeting. The cost of removing a tree can range from hundreds to thousands of dollars depending upon height and diameter of the tree, its condition, and accessibility of the site. You will also need to consider additional services you may need, such as chopping or grinding of debris, removal of the trunk and stump grinding. Sometimes these services are included, but you should confirm that your tree service does not charge extra for them.

You may want to keep some firewood for yourself. Some tree removal companies offer log splitting services and will bring a splitter with them. All of these issues should be considered before work begins.

If you need more information about having trees in your yard safely removed, contact GP Tree Service for details on their available services.
